This post comprises of two weeks worth of work.

My group has split the work load into sections for each to do. Mine was to come up with the concept of the old lady and to continuously research into Grafitti, Old People and what they wear.
The story boarding was split between two members in our group but mainly sam. I have felt slightly lost this week due to communication issues in the group but i will resolve this, this week. The main concern to my communication issues is whether the story boards are actually complete. I managed to get a copy of them for myself and would have been more then happy to complete them myself if i was asked. I have also started to sculpt a concept piece of an old lady design that i liked. I chose to make it a bust as im really going for just character concepts at the moment and not finalising my ideas. I am however unable to show the sculpture on my blog at this stage as i have lost my digital camera. I will find other means of showing it in the formative.

Now, for my work with Aztec Escape, im not really too sure what is going on as no one seems to have contacted me at all. Im also not entirely sure of who is director or producer. I have concepted as i had agreed for them but have been unable to show my work because im not sure who really im sending the images to. I will carry on doing what i have agreed never the less till told otherwise.

My ideas of how i feel the story should go.

Caught Short

The scene starts in an enclosed busy high street. Steven like most men is in a rush when shopping, when suddenly the erg to pee hits him. He looks round frantically to see queues in every direction for the toilets. Running through the streets, Steven spots an ally way in the distance. Whilst running through the crowds with his legs crossed, he bumps into a pedestrian who is just about to enjoy his lunch which is rudely thrown across the paving by his feet, which is to be trodden on and kicked through the rabble.

As Steven reaches the ally and unzips himself to reveal all, a decrepit old lady walks passed and stops. Turns to face him and shakes her head in disbelief to what he is about to do in clear daylight. Acting as natural as can be with your tackle in your hands, Steven slowly turns his back to the lady, zips up all coy and walks calmly further into the depths of the ally way. Once satisfied with the location, he stops and lets rip all over the wall, spraying patterns and designs into the graffiti which happens to be facing him on the spot he has chosen.

Steven shakes off and gets himself in place. As he starts to walk back, a can hits him directly in the back of his head. He throws his body round in one swift movement to have not a soul in his vision for miles. Although he has noticed that the ally has changed ever so slightly. The graffiti in which he had violated has vanished out of sight. He turns to walk back again when to his surprise the graffiti monster is standing on the wall directly beside him. Steven panics, looks around and sees an opening in the wall. He runs for his life through the opening into a long winding passage. A chase between him and the monster arises. The passage is filled with all kinds of obstacles (rubbish bins, bikes, crates, etc) in which Steven stumbles and collides with.
As he looses sight of the beast, Steven stops to grab his breathe. All of a sudden a massive clash appears and Steven is thrown into a pile of bins. Dazed by the blast Steven is unable to move and is left helpless to the monsters very whim. Whilst down a sound of a zip lowering occurs and all of a sudden a flood of colour sprays all over Steven as if he was being peed on. The colour covers him from head to toe making him look as if he were a drownt rat. Sopping wet he gets thrown out of the ally onto his arse into the crowd, left to run down the street away from the beast scared.

Credits

Finale – Their will be a long shot of the ally and shadow of the beast is seen moving back into it (Just a silhouette). Shortly after, another character holding his crutch as if to pee is seen entering the ally as if it is all to start over again.

Have been researching into graffitti from all regions of the world aswell as looking into the aztec gods for my part in Aztec Escape. Concept aswell as the story for my main film are my main concerns for this week. I feel it is neccessary to obviously get the story together and atleast know what form the graffitti is going to take, whether a man, monster or animal. The designs that i am currently doing for my main project are for more environmental puposes. Our main graffitti character will be far more simplistic and humourous to the eye then the designs i am currently creating. We feel that the wall itself that the character will be painted on should have various other logos on it aswell. All seems to be going well this week and hopefully will keep on this way.

My research for Caught short has consisted of:

Street Logos - By Tristan Manco - ISBN: 0-500-28469-5
Rome - HBO Series
First hand pictures of the Berlin Wall from a uni trip
And various google searches

My research for Aztec Escape has consisted of:

The Road to El Dorado - Dreamworks

Various Google searches on aztecs and their Gods
